Mother and Daughter sewing

I have added a new class so mothers and daughters can some and sew together.
I have had several ask for this so i found time on Saturday from 12:00-1:30

The cost will be $8.00 for my students for the 1 1/2 hour and will include both mother and up to two daughters. The cost for others will be $15.00 for the same 1 1/2 hour and includes both mother and up to two daughters.

Come and sew Halloween costumes. Make alterations to prom dresses, or make one! Start Christmas gifts. Or just make some decorations or ..... you get to decide. What ever it is you can do it together.

Pre registration is required class size is limited to only 4 groups.

my mother saw this in the newspaper, and we are interested in taking lessons together. we need to know the basics, and how to use her sewing machine. we'd probably need several lessons, as we're REALLY domestically challenged. how can we set up a time for a lesson? please email me at anzana5@gmail.com

Welcome into the world of creativity. We all have an inherent wish to create something from materials that have no form or function. Every one can create! and need to. Life throws tremdous challenges into our faces. I have had them, and so have all of you who are reading this . I do not mean at all to say, if we can create things will get better. But our ability to handle things and find fullfillment in our lifes do increase.

For me if I take a ball of yarn and crochet a hat and

then give it away I feel better. If I take a piece of fabric and touch it with my hands I can feel what it wants to be. I then cut sew and soon I have created something that not only the fabric wanted to be, but something that I am proud of discovering and bringing to life. Then I find with in myself a feeling of satisfaction, the sence that I can accomplish somthing in this life. If I give it away, which I usually do, I find the sweet joy of serving others .No matter where my stress comes from, if I can immerse myself into creating something, and then use it to benifit someone else. I find I have helped myself, and I hope others.

In some way I would like to see this work for so many others.

So I have started this academy. I have kept the prices as low as possible. I want all who can to come and learn the skill of creation.

I so enjoy working with the youth that I had to include them as well. They need sucess and fulfillment in their lifes also.

Success and the belief that " I can do something." Will take a child further in life than all the money or schooling can.

In teaching sewing just doing a project big or small does not teach any one how to sew . In fact it may have the opposite effect it may send the student running away never wanting to sew again.

Every one learns at a different pace. So to help teach our students we have put into place a few guidlines. we will keep the class sizes small. We will teach each student how to do the skills, then to help the student learn that skill they must have hands on experience. To provide this experience we have put together several learning projects that the student may choose from to make. Learning, trying, growing and hands are what all our classes are about. Having several fun learning projects help excite the kids in to wanting to make and try, there by learning. We will be changing our learning project frequently. There will be some for each hoilday and others that will be chosen by the students themselves. After they have mastered the basic skills then they can move on into learning and developing their talents by pick out from among our patterns, or some of their own, new projects to make. We will guide them into choosing projects that are with in their capabilites to make and finish. And of course we will be there to help, guide and hopefully inspire.
